Parents and 8th grade students,
I just wanted to put you at ease at much as possible. We WILL absolutely have an 8th grade promotion ceremony from W.E.S at some point in time, but it may be later that we expect it to be. There is no way for us to plan until we see when/if we return back to school. If we return to school at the beginning of May, we will hold 8th Grade Promotion on its originally scheduled date in May. If we do not return to school in May, then we will hold 8th Grade Promotion at a date to be determined, once Government stay at home orders are lifted and the virus is long gone--but also prior to my 8th graders beginning High School. There is no way for me to give you an exact date but I can assure and give my word that we will have a ceremony when we are able.
8th grade promotion is a rite of passage at W.E.S. I'm so proud of this year's 8th graders and have a unique bond with this class. I wouldn't miss celebrating their achievements for the world. More information will come as we see how this situation evolves. Thank you so much for your patience and I will keep you posted!
