The P.A.W.S Program at Waterford Elementary is a positive-behavior supports program (PBS), that rewards good behavior of the students in the school. P.A.W.S is an acronym that stands for:

  • I have a Positive attitude!
  • I Act responsibly!
  • I am Willing to help others!
  • I Strive for success!

Students will receive a PAWS card on which they can earn stamps with acts of kindness and positive behavior. Those cards will be entered into the drawing by grade level and names will be drawn at the end of each grading period. Prizes include McDonald’s coupons, Walmart gift cards, iTunes cards, Kindles and more. The P.A.W.S Program has also sponsored motivational speakers, such as former NFL defensive back Mr. Steve Fitzhugh, to come and address our students on the benefits of living with a positive attitude and making good choices.

We, as teachers at Waterford Elementary School, truly value the positive behavior of our students and look forward to watching them grow into thoughtful, kind, positive and successful young adults.
